Experimental Jurisprudence
experimental jurisprudence
Experimental jurisprudence is an emerging field that uses methods of cognitive science and other empirical techniques to clarify central concepts in jurisprudence. In 2017, I co-organized the inaugural workshop at Yale Law School, featuring talks applying this approach to a variety of legal topics including consent, causation, statutes of limitations, apology and criminal punishment. In 2019, I co-organized another workshop at The University of Chicago Law School, featuring talks on natural law, corporate personhood, ordinary meaning, consent, and causation.
